Where we've been

Man, my posts are getting farther apart aren't they?

So this week, Coen gave us a big scare. He woke up from a nap with a temperature of 102.2 and just laid on the couch. Coen. On the couch - still. As in, not moving. This child RUNS through the house all day. We dealt with the temperature with Tylenol and Motrin, but when he woke at 2:30 in the morning with a temp of 103.6, I took him straight to the emergency room.

What I have learned about Coen is that he does NOT like anyone who appears to have anything to do with the medical field. As soon as they come near him he started crying and clawing at me, screaming with all he has. So, our hours in the E.R. were filled with fun. After taking blood and x-rays, they decided to give him an antibiotic shot and we headed home at 6:30.

I grabbed a Starbucks on the way home anticipating Carter getting up when I got there, but as luck would have it, he had a bad dream and went to our room to sleep with Chris who couldn't sleep because Coen and I were at the E.R. which made it hard for Carter to sleep. Sooooo, Carter was still passed out in our bed. I crawled in and slept until 8, took a shower and then decided to wake both boys at 8:30 to try to keep our schedule somewhat normal. It worked out well. We all took a nap later :)

Today we went to see Dr. V to check back in and he is pretty sure that Coen has roseola. He was much better today with only a slight fever after his nap and only 2 doses of Tylenol all day. We'll be keeping our eyes out for a rash..

For some lighter news, Carter got some new underwear. Yep. When I first bought him underwear, I deliberately got plain undies. Grey, blue, white, basic undies.. I didn't want to have any "BUT I WANT MY BATMAN UNDERWEAR!!!" issues in the morning. Then the other day we were at Kohl's and he spotted Sesame Street underwear. He just had to have them. Since they were on sale and I had an additional coupon, I got him his "treat" ( I need to savor this time when new underwear is a treat, it won't last long).

Best $3 I've spent in a long time.

Along the same lines, I didn't change Coen's diaper once today. He kept telling me when he needed to potty. We'll see if it lasts.

Glad to hear Coen is doing better. Hey Carter, that's some "great colorful underwear"
you're wearing.
