our house update

We found out today that we'll be closing at the end of November. With the holidays, we weren't sure if the current family of 6 wanted to stay until the end of December, but it looks like they are anxious to get into their new home as well so, it looks like we will be moved in (as best we can) before Carter's birthday party! I found just a few more pictures to share so, take a look if you'd like!

Happy Halloween!!!

To get you in the spirit of things, check out this link, but HURRY! Once Chris gets back from hunting I may have to get rid of it. Personally, I think Isabelle  the vampire is the best dancer in the bunch.

The Boo Bash

I came across an ad for the Camas "Boo Bash" yesterday and decided Carter and I just HAD to go. Here is what it said:

Boo Bash - October 28th
Bring your children downtown for trick-or-treating from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. There are costume contests and candy for the children. Fourth Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic for ghouls and goblins to take over the street.

Let me just say, take over the streets they DID! Kids, kids EVERYWHERE. It was near impossible to get into any of the stores. I knew it probably wouldn't be the most age appropriate, but it would give Carter a chance to wear his costume and an excuse to hang with his buddy Will. So, we made the plans.

Unfortunately, both Carter and Will had plans of their own.

Carter: Refuse naps all day long and get so cranky that all he can do is scream at mommy until she takes him to Boo Bash an hour early just to get out of the house

Will: Refuse nap just long enough to make mommy run later than she planned to meet up with the Roberts

End result: By the time Will was ready to party, Carter was a HUGE party-pooper needing a major nap. So, we didn't get to see Will at all. Instead, Grandma Cupcake met us for happy hour at Twlight Pizza (since she lives so darn close now we can do fun stuff like that spur of the moment) and tried to help me keep him entertained long enough to hang with Will. It didn't work, but it was nice to show Grandma his costume.

Our new house

Some news... I almost hesitate to say it because it seems surreal but... today.... we signed off on a deal to... buy a house!

While we love our current place, we've known for a while that we'd be needing something else at some point. A boy needs a yard after all. The market seemed right so, we started looking and fell in love with this home.

It's actually the about the same size as our current place, but has a layout that suits a growing family so much better! Check out some photos at the link below and make sure to check out Carter's new playset in the yard. He is going to have so much fun playing on it AND at the 1 acre park just a block away!!!!!

oh, oh! And do you SEE Carter's new nursery?! She handpainted birdhouses on the wall and then hung a real one in their too. Wait 'til you see the birds painted on the wall that hold up his curtain. Oh, the details in this place. Did I already say that we love it?

Mini Minnie

OK. I waited as long as I could until I could be positive that everyone who was going to get this in the mail received it (so as to not take away from the fun moment of opening the card), but now I just have to share with the rest of you who check our little blog, but might not check out Carter's cousin's blog.

Isn't that the cutest thing? Little Miss Isabelle is Minnie Mouse. Too cute - I just want to squeeze her every time I see a picture. Sorry if it's blurry - it's a picture of a picture, but you can see the real thing at our house!

10 months today

I can't believe that my little baby, my little man, is 10 months old today. We were so busy that we never got a good picture of him today, but really, he looks like he did yesterday - a big blur as he speeds past us. He is getting so fast! No interest in walking now that he can crawl like the wind, but mommy is just fine with that thank-you-very-much.

Check out the counter

In case you didn't notice, we added our "Countdown to Carter's Birthday" on our blog to your left. Ok. It's a countdown to Christmas Eve, but whatever. Same thing. So, now you know how many days you have to buy your Christmas presents (YIKES!). Carter's birthday party is actually going to be the Saturday before, on December 19th, probably around 3 or 4.

Gymboree week 2

As promised - a photo from gymboree. I wanted to take more, but it was "ramp" week which means the room is FULL of different ramps to climb up (and fall off if mommy isn't there to watch). Carter couldn't get enough! He was off and climbing the moment I set him down. Will really likes it as well and being the two youngest in the group (you're supposed to be 10 months, and they're both a little shy of that), they tackle all the challenges as well as any of the others.

A day with Grandma J

Daddy and I got a little insight in to what goes on around here on Wednesday afternoons when Grandma J hangs out with little man. Apparently, Carter and fishie enjoy playing dress-up (see the hunting hat and rain boots) and chatting with Mr. Bear

Cousin lovin'

"OK Isabelle, now you just hold on there and I'll give you a ride!"

I know it's blurry - but too cute not to share.

Fishie- a boy's bestfriend

Lately, Carter can't get enough of his bath toy - Fishie. He has three of them, but right now, the yellow one is his favorite. It goes everywhere with him.

Look what I can do!

What DOES he need me for these days?

Gymboree

We FINALLY made it to a Gymboree class!!! We've been wanting to go since hearing about it from cousin Isabelle, but the closest one is about 30 minutes away. Mommy finally gave in and we made the long drive with Will and his mom, Kerrie.

Boy was it worth it! Of course mommy forgot the camera, but we signed up for at least a month so, we'll be able to take pictures next time. Carter LOVED everything about it. The teacher sings everything she does and we all know how Carter likes music and dancing. All the other kids would look her way when she'd sing, but Carter would immediately stop what he was doing and get his bootie over to the action to see what she was going to do next - roll balls down a foam incline, get out the Gymboree clown puppet, bring out new toys and teach us how to put them away, etc.

Completely worth the drive to see my little man SO excited and having SO much fun!

Stinkin' cute

Grandma Cupcake shared this adorable picture of Carter and Isabelle at her baptism. Isn't she just precious?

Nothing new

Not too much going on around here. Carter is feeling better now that he passed his cold to mom and dad and we are starting to feel better as well. Grandma Cupcake made the move to Camas and is getting settled in at her Antiques booth at Camas Antiques and preparing for her first day of work this Wednesday.

A post isn't any fun without a photo. Here is one that Auntie Lindsey sent yesterday.

Family Photos

We finally had family photos taken this past week with a GREAT photographer. She came and took them right in our own backyard. Check them out at www.jillshermanphotography.com - go to her blog

Sick Baby

Poor little man got his very first cold this morning. Running nose, sneezing, the works. He did pretty good to make it 9 1/2 months without getting sick, but with all the traveling, cold weather, and lack of sleep, I guess we kind of brought this on him. I felt awful leaving him with Auntie today while I helped Gramma Cupcake with her move, but he was in good hands.

He's doing a little better tonight with his baby vapor rub and this really cool plug in humidifier that also puts out the vapor rub smell in the air. Hopefully it will let him get a good night's sleep! Thanks Auntie Kellie for taking care of him today. I know it wasn't easy!

The new Partridge Family in the making

It turns out that we have some (although very little) musical talent in our family. Introducing Carter Roberts on lead vocals and maraca accompanied by his cousin Isabelle Buxton on the four-colored-keys-piano.

Safe and Sound

Exhausted and happy to be in our own beds tonight, the 3 Roberts (or is it Robertses?) are home safe and sound from our trip to Reno. More to follow.
