Girls' weekend/Guys' weekend

This past weekend was the annual Minten Girls Weekend. Basically, all of the girls on Chris' mom's dad's side of the family (did you get that? Papa Ron is one of 6 Minten children so, any girl related to one of those 6 in any way is invited to the weekend - I'm married to Papa Ron's grandson so, I'm a "Minten Girl"!!) get together for movie watching, game playing and eating of a lot of food!

We had a blast and while we were doing our girl thing, the Roberts boys decided to have a weekend of their own at Detroit Lake. Check out some of the photos here

I can't believe he is already sitting in the S.S. Roberts

and just LOOK at this hairdo - courtesy of Auntie Kellie sitting behind him :)

Too cool for words

Splish splash

Today Carter and I joined the waterbabies class with Will and Kerrie. There are 4 boys in the class - all about the same size, but the other 2 boys are 9 and 10 months old :) It is incredible what they are able to do so young.

Carter is learning to back float, go underwater and even get out of the pool himself!! The little 9 month old just pulls himself right out of the pool - how neat will it be when Carter can do THAT?

I'm a big boy now!

We hit a milestone on Saturday morning. Can you guess what it was?

(hint: ok - it was that Carter sat in a highchair at a restaurant)

Backtracking a bit

I was just going through some photos and realized that I never posted any photos for our visit with GG and the Buxtons! There are so many to choose from..

Here are some of my favorites:
The first morning, TJ and Auggie insisted that we need to go to Stepping Stone Cafe for some "mancakes". TJ had seen them on TV, but in person, they were even bigger!

Carter offered to help and Uncle TJ explained the plan of attack.

Our little cousins were mostly on opposite schedules, but when they were both awake and happy, they were stinkin' CUTE! Here they are watching Handy Manny.

We also got to catch up with GG's other great-grandchild, Hayden! Hayden's mom and dad came over for a BBQ and he relaxed with Carter while little Miss Isabelle caught up on her beauty rest after the long drive from Reno.

There is just too much to share here. Check out some more photos here: http://picasaweb.google.com/HeatherDRoberts/BuxtonVisitJune#

6 months

Wow- we are now officially closer to Carter's first birthday than to the day that he was born. He had his big 6 month appointment today and weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs 8 oz. Surprisingly, he is now right below the 75% mark!!!

Hey - there's another little person here!

Carter and I went for a walk with our buddies Kerrie and Will. You can tell it was exhausting for the boys. Just look at their tired/cranky little faces!

Once Carter got in his seat, Will came over to say hi. Actually, Will was really only interested in Carter's toys, but boy did Carter notice Will!

Happy Birthday Great-Grandma Lois

8 children, a lot of grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren (the 10th on the way), and one great-great-grandchild - It's amazing what you can accomplish in a short amount of time.

Happy Birthday Great-Grandma Lois!!!

A little cousin competition

Ever since Carter saw Isabelle putting her feet in her mouth, he has been trying to do the same. Yesterday, he finally did it!

The only catch... this is a close-up photo because Mr. Carter has to have his diaper off to be remotely close to as flexible as his cousin is :)

Move over mommy!

Remember when Chris' coworker gave Carter his first laptop so that he could work with dad?

http://therobertshouse.blogspot.com/2008/12/lets-go-wook.html

Well, Carter is over HIS laptop and ready for mommy's. You can see his over to his right as he reaches for mine. I kept trying to get him to be interested in the lights and music of his again, but something about my boring white mac really had him intrigued.

Happy Father's Day

What a busy 1st Father's Day Chris had! We spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Roberts' house and went to church in the morning. We ran into a portion of the Russ Minten family. Carter just LOVED being held up high in the air by aunt Kim and couldn't get enough of cousin McKenzie's necklace.

Carter got dad a shirt and tie (OK - a shirt with a tie on it) for his first father's day. Daddy wouldn't wear his to church, but Carter did.

Later, the boys watched some TV together.

Since all the Roberts were together minus uncle Nick, we decided to give him a call using skype. Carter liked showing off his sitting abilities and how he could play with daddy's old toys.

Good morning

This picture is a couple of weeks old now, but this is exactly what I saw one morning when I went to get Carter out of bed. The railing was raised the very same day.

A boy and his dog

Anyone who knows Mona knows that it is more like a dog and HER boy since she calls the shots, but Carter is learning early how to take care of Mona.

Our baby is a model

Sort of. Auntie Lindsey has been pushing him into a modeling career for about 5 1/2 months now, but he (and mommy) has resisted. Then, we got an email about a photo contest from the company that sold us his cloth diapers. I shot an email over with a photo and guess who won???

Check out our little winner: www.clothkisses.com

Now he's REALLY sitting!!!

I missed it! The first time he sat by himself for a while and I wasn't here to see it. Lucky auntie Storm had her video camera out so we can all see it for ourselves.

Care for a little octopus?

Such a thoughtful host, Carter shares his octopus with his little cousin.

I need a hug!

Big v. Teeny Tiny

Guess who!

Yes, it is little Miss Isabelle herself right here in Camas!!! We'll post many more photos (and hopefully a video) later. Right now we are just enjoying this teeny tiny lump of sugar - I can hardly stand how cute she is! Don't you just love the strawberry hat that auntie Lindsey bought her?!

A little help please

We changed things up a bit in our living room and we need a little help...

Before:

After:

Should Carter's picture be framed?
Does this wall need more photos or maybe just a verse painted on the wall?
What other ideas does anyone have?

My boys

Just another night at the Roberts' house. Daddy got home late from work so mommy had already eaten, but Carter can always make room for desert so, he joined daddy as he ate his dinner.

Jordo's graduation

The youngest Westlund has left the nest (or will at the end of summer to attend Western Oregon) and to celebrate we went to the big graduation party at the Westlund's. As always, the biggest hit for the kids was the pool and Carter got his first taste of it this past weekend.

I don't think we are going to have a problem with him staying on the first step like I used to do..
