I took inventory of Carter's wardrobe today and it seems that we have a problem. Really, it isn't a horrible problem to have. The boy has WAY too many clothes. I packed away all of the clothes that he has already outgrown which will go into storage.
No worries! Even with that big box filled, he has plenty of clothes ranging from 3-6 months all the way up to some 24 months and it has become something of a game for me to make sure he gets to wear each outfit at least once!
He has some in his closet, some in his dresser...
some in baskets that I've place around the room..
more still is just coming out of the dryer..
With all of this said, Chris and I have bought him a total of about 3 outfits. So... we love you all and REALLY appreciate all the adorable clothes, but we'll have to put a stop to this spoiling (for the time being anyway).

The mommy version of me
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Let's hear it for the boys!
I'm beyond proud of both my men this morning! They both have very big news. First, little man's news: he slept from 10 pm until 6 am. You read that right - 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Even better, when he did wake up, he stayed in his crib quietly talking to himself until mommy came to get him.
Chris's news.. well, he doesn't want us to make a big deal of it so, I'd better not SAY anything. If you happen to come upon a link to some information however, that really isn't my fault.

Carter's new best friend
We met Carter's first, and therefore best, friend yesterday. Little Mr. Rylan is too cute for words! He is 7 months, the perfect teacher to show Carter the ways of the world. He eats (ok, he's fed) with a spoon and already has multiple teeth. Carter has so much to learn!
Now, if only they could get rid of the adults and have some real fun!
Five dollar. Five dollar. Five dollar newborn!
That's right - everything in the newborn (up to 24 months) section at Old Navy is $5! I had just gone in to make a return, but as is the case when making a return, I ended up finding some other great buys that I couldn't pass up. Look at the adorable boat shoes and cute little shorts. For $5 each, how could I pass them up?

Caution!
Carter's first "over-nighter" (A.K.A. mommy's first night without her little man)
This past Sunday marked one year from the day we said "I do". We couldn't have planned the day any better. Boy how the time flies!
We knew we wanted to start our family right away, but we didn't really think through all the details. Details like how we would celebrate our one year anniversary with an almost 3 months old baby. In the end, we decided that we DID need to celebrate and take time for our marriage. So, off to Grandma's Carter went (not without some tears or numerous "time outs" to look at his picture). The boy comes with quite a bit of baggage for a 2 night stay.
Daddy had him looking good for his first stay at Grandma J's, but couldn't let him go without a little fun first. Here daddy is teaching Carter to balance his pacifier on his head.
With Carter settled, we headed to Sisters, Oregon to the Lodge at Suttle Lake. It was absolutely gorgeous and it snowed just like on our wedding day. Here is a view from our window. You can't quite see it with the snow, but this is a view of the lake.
The service was exceptional! Each morning we would have a basket of fresh fruit, juices and danishes at our door and we had our own flashlight incase we wanted to go for a stroll in the evening.
We rushed back to our little man early Tuesday morning and went right back to our routine. Carter welcomed Chris home the only way he knows how... What a good daddy Carter has!

He's not huge!
Well, OK. It depends on how you look at it. Carter had his 2 month appointment on Wednesday and he weighs in at 13 lbs 8 oz. Yes, this is almost exactly what his daddy weighed at 3 months. The good news, he is also 24 inches long which means that he is "proportionate". His doctor said that he is in the 90th percential for both height and weight so...
He is a "big" boy for his age, but he isn't "huge". There are still 10% of babies his age that weigh more. Even as I type that, I realize that he probably IS "huge" for his age :)

Shhhh! We're eavesdropping!
Just listen to what I overheard Carter telling Grandma J! Can you even believe it?

Boys day out
Carter got together with his cousin Hayden again when GG (their shared Grandma) was in town. Hayden is keeping pace with Carter's weight gain, but he still felt so light when I held him since he is 2 weeks behind Carter. I couldn't remember Carter ever feeling that light, but I guess it was just 2 weeks ago!
Carter couldn't get enough of Hayden's daddy, Heath. He was all smiles!
